Engage Somerset: A breath of fresh air

The team from Engage Somerset from Pluss put their best feet forward as they set off on one of their new wellbeing walks.
The six month Engage Somerset project was launched in January 2022 to help 500 people, who are 18 years old or over, live in the county and are not in paid work to – get fit.
If you live in Chard, Highbridge or Glastonbury, it may be just the thing to help you feel good and be more empowered on your journey to employment.
You can find out much more about the project, and how to get involved, by using the link at the bottom of this page.
But before you get clicking, take a look at some of the photos from the first walks which took place in Glastonbury and Highbridge on Monday 14th February, 2022 – Valentine’s Day: what a great day to look after your heart!

Digital Coach, Suzi (from Cosmic), joined Community Coach, Claire, to help lead the Highbridge walk. Here they are with Hugh before setting off across the fields.

Each walk is tailored to the needs and abilities of the people taking part. One of the loveliest results was seeing people make friends, and discover areas of their neighbourhood they hadn't seen before.
Engage Somerset on the BBC
BBC Somerset sent a reporter along to join our Glastonbury walk and speak to some of the people taking part.
They also invited Project Manager, Lisa, on to their Breakfast Show to tell presenter Claire Carter all about Engage Somerset and the things on offer to the residents of Glastonbury, Chard and Highbridge.
