Heidi was referred to Pluss as she was struggling to find support with her job search and maintain employment.
This had knocked her confidence and she was struggling to communicate and go out of the house.
Heidi joined the programme during lockdown, but she was able to join in Pluss’ Zoom Wellbeing Support Group and was supported with employment working from home. Due to Heidi’s growth in the wellbeing group, she was able to meet with a job coach to support her with applying and was successful in gaining a place on the Project Search programme.
With her increased confidence, she is now aspiring to undertake a Porter role in the hospital. We wish her well for the future.
“Since an early age, I have been having problems with speech and language and was not confident to go out, as people would laugh at me.
“I attended Longcause school from the age of 11 and soon after, my confidence began to grow knowing that I wasn’t the only one and they offered me lots of support to grow.
“When I left Longcause, I secured a place at Duchy College studying small animals and equine which I really enjoyed. After college for four years, I left and found myself without a job, no prospects and feeling very low.
Pluss stepped in and began to give me back my confidence and the opportunity to meet with other friends like me.
“Eventually, I was accepted onto the Project Search Program following an interview and introductory day.
“I am very grateful for what Pluss and the team have achieved in such a little time I have been with them. I wish them continued success with every endeavour.”
